PersistentGPT is committed to protecting your privacy. This privacy policy explains how our Chrome extension handles your data when you use our service to summarize ChatGPT conversations.
When you click the "Summarize Chat" button, PersistentGPT temporarily collects the content of your current ChatGPT conversation to generate a summary. This data is:
Sent to our secure Cloudflare Worker backend Processed by Google's Gemini API to generate the summary Immediately discarded after the summary is generated Never stored in any database or server Never used for training, analytics, or any other purpose
All summaries and history are stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's local storage API. This means:
Your summaries never leave your device except during the brief summarization process We have no access to your stored summaries You have complete control over your data You can delete your history anytime using the "Clear History" button in the extension
We do not collect, store, or process:
Personal identification information User accounts or login credentials Browsing history or activity outside of ChatGPT pages Analytics or usage statistics Cookies or tracking data Any data beyond what's necessary for summarization
The only use of your chat content is:
Generating AI-powered summaries when you explicitly click "Summarize Chat" Returning the summary to you for display in the extension No other use, storage, or processing occurs
Your chat content is only transmitted when you:
Explicitly click the "Summarize Chat" button Have an active internet connection Are on a ChatGPT conversation page
