MockDash ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
1. Data Collection and Usage
MockDash is designed as a local-first productivity tool. We do not collect, store, or transmit your browsing history, page content, or screenshots to our servers.
A. Personal Information (Pro Users Only)
If you purchase a Pro license, we process the following information solely for license verification purposes:
- License Key
- Email Address associated with the purchase
This data is used to verify your subscription status via the Gumroad API. We do not sell or share this data with any third parties other than Gumroad (our payment processor).
B. User Content (Webpage Data)
MockDash processes webpage content (DOM elements, text, numbers) locally within your browser to provide the "Scramble," "Blur," and "Highlight" features.
- No Data Transfer: The text and images on the webpages you visit are never sent to MockDash servers.
- Screenshots: Screenshots generated by the "Capture" feature are created locally and downloaded directly to your device. We do not have access to these images.
2. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate our extension:
- Gumroad: We use Gumroad to handle payments and license management. When you activate your Pro license, your License Key is sent to the Gumroad API for validation. Please refer to Gumroad's Privacy Policy for more information.
3. Data Storage
- Local Storage: Your preferences (e.g., license status, daily usage count) are stored locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API (
chrome.storage.local).
- Data Security: Since we do not maintain a backend database of user data, your data remains on your device and is subject to your browser's security protocols.
