This Privacy Policy explains how ManabitAI ("we", "us", or "our") handles your information. We are committed to a "Privacy-First" architecture where your learning data stays in your control while we maintain the security of our AI services.

1. Data We Collect and How We Use It

To provide Japanese text extraction and flashcard generation, we access the following:

• Camera and Photo Library: Used strictly to capture or import images for text extraction (OCR).
• Usage Data (Anonymized): We collect counts of "input tokens" and "output tokens" processed by our AI.
• Identifiers: We use an anonymized CloudKit identifier (Record Name) to manage your daily scan limits and prevent service abuse. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID.
• User-Submitted Feedback: If you choose to use the 'Report AI issue' feature, the specific image, text, and AI output for that session will be securely uploaded to our developer database solely for debugging. This data is not used to train foundational AI models.

2. Third-Party AI Processing (Google Gemini)

ManabitAI utilizes the Google Gemini API for advanced linguistic analysis.

• Paid Tier Protection: Because we utilize Google’s Paid Enterprise API, the text and images you submit are not used by Google to train its foundational AI models.
• Safety Logs: Google may retain data for a limited period (typically 30 days) solely to detect abuse or safety violations.

3. Data Storage and Syncing (Apple iCloud)

• Private Storage: Your flashcards and vocabulary are stored in your Private iCloud Database. We cannot see, read, or access this data.
• Public Security Logs: Anonymized token counts and "Banned User" status are stored in a Public CloudKit container, but these contain no personal text, images, or identifiable information.

4. Account Suspension and Abuse

We monitor anonymized usage patterns to protect our API budget. We reserve the right to suspend access (via our "BannedUsers" registry) to any anonymized ID that displays patterns of bot-like behavior or service abuse.

5. Data Deletion

You have full control over your flashcards. Deleting the App or clearing your iCloud storage for ManabitAI will remove your learning data. Anonymized usage logs (token counts) are retained for 90 days for billing and audit purposes before being purged.
