LinkedIn Feed Cleaner is designed with user privacy as a top priority. This policy outlines how your data is handled.

1. Data Collection

The extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) to our own servers. We do not have any backend servers.

2. Data Processing (AI Filtering)

If you enable the AI Filter (Grok or Gemini) and provide an API key:

• The text of the LinkedIn posts you view is sent to the AI service of your choice (Google Gemini or xAI Grok).
• This data is sent directly from your browser to the AI API endpoint via an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
• The AI service processes the text to determine if it is "noise" and returns a YES/NO response.
• We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of Google and xAI for information on how they handle data processed through their APIs.

3. Storage

• All settings, including your LLM API Keys*, are stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local.
• These keys are never sent to us or any third party, except for the respective AI service during an API call.

4. Permissions

• storage: Required to save your filter preferences and API keys locally.
• host_permissions: Required to modify the LinkedIn feed and communicate with AI APIs.
