How the Extension Works

Local Processing

CEFR Reader performs all text analysis entirely on your local device:

  1. Text Analysis: When you activate the extension on a webpage, it analyzes the visible text content using local JavaScript code
  2. Vocabulary Matching: Words are matched against our local CEFR database (18,000+ words) stored within the extension
  3. Readability Calculation: Scores are calculated using local algorithms (Flesch-Kincaid, Lexile approximations)
  4. Display: Results are displayed immediately in your browser

No data leaves your browser during this process.
