1. Introduction

ATILA ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome Extension designed to provide ephemeral, real-time chat functionality. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

2. Data Collection

We collect the minimum amount of data necessary for the application to function:

• Chat Messages: Messages you send are stored temporarily in our database to sync with other users in your room.
• Room ID & Username: These are stored locally on your device (chrome.storage.local) to remember your session.

3. Data Retention

• Messages: Messages are ephemeral. The application logic hides messages older than 24 hours. Users can also manually "Purge" a room, which permanently deletes all messages in that room from our servers.
• Local Data: You can clear your stored Username and Room ID at any time by clearing your browser's extension data.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Google Firebase (Firestore) to facilitate real-time communication.

5. User Anonymity

We do not require user accounts, email addresses, or phone numbers. You are identified only by the "Codename" you choose.
