PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: March 23, 2026
VoiceBook AI ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application, VoiceBook AI (the "App").
1. OUR PRIVACY PROMISE: PRIVACY BY DESIGN
We built VoiceBook AI with a "Local-First" philosophy.
- No Accounts Required: You do not need to create an account or provide your name or email to use the App.
- Data Minimization: We do not permanently store your recordings, transcripts, or summaries on our servers.
- Your Data is Yours: All processed notes, summaries, translations, quizzes, flashcards, and chat history are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your private notes.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT AND HOW WE USE IT
Since we do not require user registration, we collect very limited data. We categorize data collection as follows:
A. User Content (Temporary Processing)
To provide the transcription, summarization, translation, quiz generation, flashcard creation, and chat features, you may record audio through the App, import audio files, or provide YouTube video URLs.
- What we do: We transmit your audio or video content to our third-party AI processor (Google AI via Firebase) solely for the purpose of converting speech to text, generating summaries, translating content, creating quizzes/flashcards, and powering the chat feature.
- Retention: Audio and video content is processed ephemerally by Google's AI services. We do not store your content on any server we own or operate.
- Storage: The resulting text (transcripts, summaries, translations, quizzes, flashcards, and chat responses) is sent back to your device and stored locally. We do not keep a copy.
B. YouTube Content
When you provide a YouTube URL, the App processes the video content through our AI provider to generate transcriptions and summaries. The YouTube URL and associated thumbnail metadata are stored locally on your device. Video playback is handled through an embedded YouTube player.
C. Subscription Data
