Subscriptions
Pace Coach offers an auto-renewable subscription with a free trial.
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat
(revenuecat.com) to manage and verify your subscription status.
RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app user ID and your
transaction details from Apple — never your name or payment card
details. RevenueCat's privacy policy: revenuecat.com/privacy.
What PaceCoach collects
PaceCoach collects the minimum data needed to function:
- Location (GPS): Used in the background during an active run to track your pace and distance. Your GPS coordinates are processed on-device and are never uploaded to any server.
- Run history: Distance, duration, pace, splits, and AI coach verdict are stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device.
- Anonymous analytics: We collect anonymous usage events (app opened, run started, run completed, location permission denied) to understand how the app is used. These events are associated with a randomly generated device ID — not your name, email, or any personal identifier.
- AI coaching: To generate spoken coaching, the app sends summarized
run metrics (current pace, distance, duration) as text to our
coaching service. These messages do not include your GPS
coordinates, name, or contact information.
Third-party services
PaceCoach uses PostHog (analytics), Apple (in-app purchases), and RevenueCat (subscription management). Each receives only the data described above. No personal data is shared with advertisers.
What we do not collect
- No account or sign-in required
- No name, email, or contact information
- No health or fitness data beyond what you explicitly start a run to track
- No data is sold or shared with advertisers
Data retention
Run history stays on your device and can be removed by uninstalling the app. Anonymous analytics data is retained by PostHog for up to 1 year.
