1. Introduction

ErgPal ("we," "our," or "us") is operated by Robert Neithart. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use the ErgPal iOS application ("the App"). By using ErgPal, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored in encrypted form — we never see it in plain text). If you sign in with Google, we also collect your Google account email and an OAuth access token used to enable Google Sheets export. If you sign in with Apple, we collect your Apple ID email, which may be a private relay address.

Workout Data

When you log a workout, we extract workout data from a photo you take or select of your Concept2 PM5 monitor screen — including distance, time, split pace, stroke rate, heart rate, and interval/split rows — and save that data, along with the workout date and any edits you make, to your account. The photo itself is processed as described in Section 4 and is kept only on your device so you can view it later; we do not upload your original photos to our servers.

Usage Data

We keep a count of how many times the photo-parsing feature is used within a 24-hour period, solely to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse. For scans performed during onboarding before you create an account, this count is associated with a one-way hashed (irreversible) form of your device's IP address rather than an account — we do not store your raw IP address. Once you have an account, the count is associated with your account.

Push Notification Token

If you grant notification permissions, we store your device's push notification token to send you a single reminder before your free trial expires. We do not send marketing notifications.

Onboarding Responses

During onboarding, we collect your responses to questions about your training goals, frustrations, and workout frequency. This is used solely to personalize your onboarding experience and is stored in your account profile.

Subscription Information

Subscription purchases and billing are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage and verify subscription status. We do not store your payment card information — this is handled exclusively by Apple.
