What this extension does

Bangalore Tech Events is a Chrome extension that aggregates publicly listed events from Lu.ma, Konfhub, and Meetup into a side panel. It is built and maintained by Abhishek Rathi.

What data we collect

None. This extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

What data we store locally

The extension stores the following on your own device using chrome.storage.local:

• Event data fetched from Lu.ma, Konfhub, and Meetup (titles, dates, venues, URLs)
• Per-source health status (whether the last fetch succeeded)
• The timestamp of the last refresh

This data never leaves your browser. It is only used to populate the side panel and to avoid re-fetching events on every open. Uninstalling the extension deletes all of it.

Network requests

The extension makes outbound HTTP requests to:

• api.lu.ma and lu.ma — to fetch the public Bangalore event listing
• konfhub.com — to fetch the public events page
• www.meetup.com — to fetch the public Bangalore find page

These requests do not include any personal identifiers beyond what your browser sends by default (user agent, IP address — which goes to those sites, not to us).

Permissions used

• storage — to cache events locally on your device
• alarms — to schedule a background refresh every 6 hours
• sidePanel — to render the events UI in Chrome's side panel
