Polly is a community voting platform. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What we collect: When you sign in with Discord, X, or Telegram, we receive your username and a unique identifier from that platform. We store these to identify you across sessions and link you to polls you register for or vote in. We do not receive or store your email, phone number, password, or any private messages.

When you vote, we generate a cryptographic hash derived from your platform identity and the poll ID. This hash — not your name or username — is what gets recorded on the blockchain. Your identity is not publicly visible on-chain.

We store which polls you have registered for and whether you have voted. We do not store which candidate you voted for in a way that is linked to your identity. Your vote choice is private. Only the hash goes to the blockchain.

What we don't collect: We do not collect payment information. We do not run ads. We do not sell data. We do not track you across other websites.

How we use your data: Your data is used solely to operate the platform — to verify you are a real person, to ensure you can only vote once per poll, and to show admins how many people have registered and voted (not who voted for what).

Data retention: Your account data is retained until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your user record, all your polls if you are an admin, and all registrations associated with your account. Votes that have been confirmed on-chain cannot be deleted — the blockchain is permanent by design, but your on-chain data is a hash with no direct link to your identity.

Third parties

We use Supabase for our database and authentication infrastructure. We use the Polygon blockchain for vote recording. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
