This Privacy Policy describes how Etch Daily (“Etch Daily,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use our Android application distributed on Google Play. By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Overview

Etch Daily is built to store your tasks, ideas, and wins primarily on your device. The current version of the App does not require you to create an Etch Daily account, and we do not operate our own cloud service or backend that receives your task or win content in real time.

Information the App processes

1. Information stored locally on your device

The App stores information you enter—such as Today tasks, Someday items, wins, preferences (including product settings related to features you have access to), and related app state—using on-device storage (Android DataStore). This data remains on your device unless you export it, clear app data, or uninstall the App.

2. Purchases and subscriptions (Etch Pro)

If you purchase or subscribe to Etch Pro or related offerings, Google Play processes payments and subscription management. Google may collect and process purchase-related information in accordance with Google’s policies. We do not receive your full payment card number. 3. Notifications

The App may schedule local notifications on your device (for example, reminders related to your evening ritual, focus timer completion, or weekly recap). These notifications are delivered using your device’s operating system features. They are not used to transmit your personal entries to us because we do not operate a Etch Daily server that receives that content.

4. Sharing and export

If you use features that export or share data (such as sharing a CSV export), the App prepares content on your device and may invoke Android’s standard share flow. If you choose to send content to another app or destination (email, cloud storage, messaging, etc.), that sharing is handled by you and that third-party service, not by us.

5. Files and sharing (system providers)

The App may use Android system components (such as a FileProvider) to safely share exported files with the apps you select. Those components operate on your device.

6. Data we do not intentionally collect in the App

The current App is not bundled with third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs from Etch Daily. Routine distribution, installation, and updates may still involve Google Play and device manufacturers processing information under their own policies.
