OzNews ("we", "our", or "the app") is operated by Arsh Mansuri. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

Location (optional). With your permission, OzNews uses your device's location to identify your city and show news relevant to your area. Your precise location is processed on-device and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings — the app will still function.

Locally stored preferences. Your saved articles, selected topics, city, and theme preference are stored on your device using local storage. This data never leaves your device.

Comments. If you choose to post a comment on an article, the text of your comment is stored on our backend (Supabase) and visible to other users. Do not include personal information in comments.

• We do not require an account or sign-in.
• We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any contact information.
• We do not track you across apps or websites.
• We do not sell your data.
• We do not run third-party advertising or analytics.

1. Third-Party Services

• Supabase — database hosting for news articles and comments.
• wsrv.nl — image optimisation proxy used to load article images more efficiently.
• News sources — article content is sourced from publicly available news feeds; opening "Read full article" links may take you to those publishers' websites, which have their own privacy practices.

1. Children's Privacy

OzNews is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
