Welcome to Cavino. We (“we,” “our,” or “the App”) recognize the importance of your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information in compliance with global privacy standards (including GDPR, CCPA, and Apple’s App Store Review Guidelines).
1. Information We Collect
To provide wine recognition and digital management services, we may process the following information:
- User-Generated Content: Photos of wine bottles you capture, tasting notes you enter, ratings, and your personal collection lists.
- Image Data: When you use the recognition feature, photos are transmitted via an encrypted connection to third-party vision recognition services for processing. We do not use these photos for any purpose other than identifying wine.
- Device and Technical Data: To optimize app performance, we collect device type, operating system version, and basic anonymized usage statistics.
- Identifiers (ATT Prompt):
- IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers): With your explicit permission (granted via the system’s App Tracking Transparency/ATT prompt), we may access your IDFA. This is used primarily to measure installation sources and optimize our marketing efforts to reach more wine enthusiasts.
- You may opt out of this tracking at any time via your device settings.
2. How We Use Information
We collect information solely for the following purposes:
- Core Functionality: To identify wine bottles, synchronize your collection list, and generate tasting statistics and charts.
- Data Backup: To prevent data loss, your data is synchronized to our secure servers, ensuring you can retrieve your records when switching devices.
- Product Improvement: To improve recognition algorithms and user experience based on aggregated and anonymized statistical data.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
- Sensitive Information: We do not collect your name, phone number, precise geolocation, or contact list.
- Unrelated Data: We do not access other photos or files on your device that are unrelated to wine recognition.
4. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
- Recognition Services: Photos are sent to third-party vision recognition APIs for one-time processing. This process is protected by encryption, and third-party providers retain data only for the brief period required for auditing and anti-abuse purposes.
- Storage Services: We use reliable cloud service providers (such as Apple CloudKit or protected cloud servers) to store your backup data.
- No Reselling: We will never rent or sell your personal data, drinking preferences, or tasting records to any third party.
5. Legal Basis and Your Rights
- Authorization and Consent: We process data based on your explicit consent (e.g., granting camera permissions, notification permissions, and ATT authorization).
- Your Rights: Depending on your location, you have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of your data.
- Deletion: You may delete specific records within the app or contact us to request account deletion and the removal of all cloud backups.
- Withdrawal: You may revoke any granted permissions at any time through the iOS System Settings.
6. Children’s Privacy
Cavino is designed exclusively for adults who have reached the legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.
7. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable encryption (such as TLS) and access control measures to protect your data. However, due to the inherent nature of internet transmissions, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Policy Updates
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any amendments will be posted within the App, and the "Last Updated" date will be updated accordingly. Your continued use of the App after an amendment constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
