1. Introduction Welcome to Weather AI ("the App"), developed and operated by Weather AI ("we," "us," or "our"). Your privacy is extremely important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights regarding your personal data. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Location Data We request access to your device's location solely to provide accurate, localized weather forecasts and personalized clothing recommendations. Location data is used in real-time to query weather services and is not stored on any external server controlled by us. You may revoke location permissions at any time through your device's Settings.
2.2 User Profile Data During onboarding, you may provide personal preferences such as gender, age range, and clothing style preferences. This data is stored exclusively on your device and is used to personalize AI-generated outfit recommendations. It is never transmitted to external servers in a personally identifiable form.
2.3 Usage & Analytics Data We collect anonymized, aggregated usage data such as app launch frequency, feature interactions, session duration, and crash diagnostics. This data does not identify you personally and is used solely to improve app stability and user experience.
2.4 Subscription & Purchase Data If you purchase a Weather AI Pro subscription, all payment processing is handled exclusively by Apple via the App Store and StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or store your payment details, credit card numbers, or billing address. We receive only a transaction confirmation and subscription status from Apple and RevenueCat (our subscription management provider).
2.5 AI Interaction Data To generate personalized outfit recommendations, weather parameters (temperature, humidity, wind speed, weather condition) along with your selected style preferences (gender, age range, preferred clothing types, occasion context) are sent to third-party AI services (xAI / Grok). No personally identifiable information — such as your name, email, precise GPS coordinates, or device identifiers — is included in these requests.
2.6 Local Device Data Your preferences (theme, language, notification settings), streak progress, reward points, saved outfits, referral data, and daily AI scenario cache are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults and SwiftData. This data never leaves your device unless you delete the App.
3. How We Use Your Information • Deliver accurate weather forecasts tailored to your current location • Generate AI-powered outfit recommendations personalized to your gender, age, and style preferences • Create daily AI scenarios and style insights • Manage your subscription status and entitlements • Track your reward streaks, points, and unlockable content • Send weather-related push notifications (only with your explicit permission) • Display Live Activities and widgets with current weather data • Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve app features and performance • Diagnose and fix technical issues and crashes
4. Third-Party Services • Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com) — Provides weather forecast data. Only geographic coordinates are sent; no personal identifiers are transmitted. • xAI / Grok API (x.ai) — Powers AI-generated outfit recommendations and daily scenarios. Only weather parameters and anonymized style preferences are sent; no personal data is shared. • RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — Manages subscription lifecycle and receipt validation. Processes anonymized Apple subscription receipts only. • Apple Services — App Store (purchases), StoreKit (subscriptions), WidgetKit (home screen widgets), ActivityKit (Live Activities), APNs (push notifications), and CoreLocation (device location).
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party. We may disclose information only if required by applicable law, to protect safety, or to trusted service providers listed in Section 4.
6. Data Retention • Local Data: All user preferences, profile information, streaks, rewards, and cached AI content are stored on your device and persist until you uninstall the App. • Analytics Data: Anonymized usage data is retained for up to 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted. • We do not maintain any external database containing your personal information.
7. Data Security • All network communications use TLS/HTTPS encryption. • API keys and sensitive configurations are securely stored and never exposed to end users. • No personal data is transmitted to or stored on external servers controlled by us. • Local data is protected by iOS platform-level encryption and sandboxing.
8. Children's Privacy The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at vashinsky@icloud.com.
9. Your Rights & Choices • Access: View your locally stored data directly on your device. • Deletion: Delete all your data by uninstalling the App. • Location: Revoke location permissions via Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. • Notifications: Disable push notifications via Settings > Notifications > Weather AI. • Subscription: Manage or cancel via Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions. • For EEA users: right to data portability, right to restrict processing, right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. • For California (USA) users: additional rights under the CCPA.
10. International Users The App is available worldwide. By using the App, you acknowledge that your information may be processed in countries where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
11. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The updated policy will be posted within the App with a revised "Last updated" date.
