Privacy Policy

INTRODUCTION Receiptku ("we", "our", or "us") is a receipt management application designed for Malaysian users. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our mobile application.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our service: • Receipt data you manually enter (merchant name, amount, date, category, notes) • Receipt images you capture or import from your photo library • OCR-extracted text from receipt images • App usage preferences stored locally on your device We do NOT collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., for support queries).
HOW WE USE YOUR DATA Your data is used solely to provide the core features of the app: • Organising and categorizing your receipts • Auto-detecting merchant names via OCR • Generating LHDN tax relief summaries and Excel exports • Displaying spending analytics and category breakdowns We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the app's functionality.
ON-DEVICE PROCESSING & SECURITY All receipt scanning, OCR processing, and data storage happen entirely on your device: • Local OCR: We use Google ML Kit for offline text recognition. No data leaves your phone. • Local Storage: Data is stored in a private SQLite database on your device. • Your financial data and receipt images stay on your phone at all times.
DATA STORAGE & RETENTION Your data is stored locally. Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all locally stored data. We do not retain any backup copies of your data on our servers for the Free plan. Cloud backup, if available in future versions, will require your explicit consent.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES The app uses Google ML Kit for offline OCR processing. We do not include any tracking, advertising, or analytics SDKs in the current version of the app.
CAMERA & PHOTO LIBRARY ACCESS The app requests permissions to access your camera and photo library solely to: • Capture receipt photos for OCR scanning • Import existing receipt images from your gallery • Save processed receipt images to your gallery We do not upload or share any images captured through the app.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY Receiptku is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.
