LangSwitch is a browser extension that helps users correct mistyped keyboard-layout input in editable text fields. LangSwitch currently supports Korean layout conversion, Chinese (Pinyin), and Japanese (Romaji).

1. Data Collection

LangSwitch does not collect, sell, or share personal data with the developer or third parties.

LangSwitch does not transmit typed text, personal information, authentication credentials, financial information, health information, personal communications, or location data to external servers.

LangSwitch stores user preferences locally through Chrome extension storage, such as selected language, context mode, theme, auto-convert preference, and per-site rules.

2. How LangSwitch Works

LangSwitch runs locally in the user’s browser.

When the extension is enabled on a site, it may process text entered into editable fields on that page in order to detect possible keyboard-layout mistakes and show correction suggestions.

All conversion logic runs locally on-device. Typed content is not sent to external servers.

3. Permissions Used

LangSwitch uses the following Chrome permissions:

• storage Used to save extension settings such as language, context mode, theme, auto-convert preference, and per-site rules.
• tabs and activeTab Used in the popup to identify the current site so the user can enable or disable LangSwitch for that site.
• Host access (<all_urls>) via content scripts Used to run the extension on pages the user visits so it can detect mistyped input in editable text fields and show local correction suggestions.
