1. Overview Focus Buddy (“App”) helps you manage focus sessions. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.
2. Information We Collect
   • Account Information: Name, email, and UID when you sign in with Google or Apple.
   • App Usage (Android only, optional): Foreground app package names via Usage Access permission, used solely to detect distracting apps during focus mode.
   • Installed Apps List (Android only, optional): Read to let you choose which apps to block during focus sessions.
   • Notifications Data: App uses local notifications to remind/guide you during sessions.
   • Preferences & Session Data: Focus/break durations, rounds, focus mode settings, and timer state (locally on device; some settings may sync to cloud for reliability).
   • Diagnostics/Logs: Basic error logs to improve stability (no personal content).
   • Optional Content You Provide: Feedback you submit within the app.
3. How We Use Information
   • Provide and improve focus sessions and focus mode features.
   • Show local reminders/notifications.
   • Maintain your preferences and progress.
   • Prevent distractions by overlaying a screen on blocked apps (Android only).
   • Ensure service reliability and troubleshoot issues.
4. Data Storage & Sharing
   • Local Storage: Preferences and timer state may be stored on-device (e.g., SharedPreferences).
   • Cloud Services: We may use Firebase (Auth/Firestore/Messaging) to authenticate, sync limited settings, and deliver notifications.
   • No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal data.
   • Third-Party Processors: Google/Firebase and Apple Sign In are used for authentication and infrastructure.
   • Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect safety/rights.
5. Permissions (Android)
   • Usage Access: To detect the currently open app and apply focus blocking.
   • Display over Other Apps (Overlay): To show a blocking screen over selected apps during focus sessions.
   • Notifications & Foreground Service: To deliver focus reminders and keep timers reliable. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.
   1. Children’s Privacy Focus Buddy is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us at hello@devnytix.com to delete it.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
   • We retain account/profile data while your account is active.
   • You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting [Contact Email]. Some logs may be retained for security/compliance as permitted by law.
