Introduction
Welcome to LiGHTBOX (also referred to as "the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our application.
Our core privacy principle is simple: your data is yours. LiGHTBOX is designed to perform all its core image processing directly on your device. We do not have user accounts, and we do not collect or store your personal information, photos, or videos on our servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
To be perfectly clear, we do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of the following:
- Your Photos or Videos: Images you select from your library or take with your camera are processed exclusively on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers.
- Personal Information: We do not require you to create an account, so we do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information.
- Unique Device Identifiers for Tracking: We do not use advertising identifiers or other device-level IDs to track you across apps or websites.
Information We Collect and How We Use It
While our data collection is minimal, we do handle certain types of data to provide and improve the app's functionality.
1. Photo and Camera Access
- Why we need it: The core function of LiGHTBOX is to apply filters to your images. We require one-time or ongoing permission to access your Photo Library or Camera so you can select an image to edit.
- How we use it: The image you select is loaded into the app's memory for processing. All filter effects, including HDR processing and glare effects, are applied directly on your device. The original image is not modified, and the processed image is only saved back to your Photo Library if you explicitly choose to do so.
2. Face and Landmark Detection (For the "Eyes Glare" Filter)
- Why we need it: The "Eyes Glare" filter uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to detect the location of eyes within a photo.
- How we use it: This detection happens in real-time, on your device, solely to position the glare effect correctly. The resulting landmark data (the coordinates of the eyes) is used only for that processing session and is immediately discarded. It is never stored, saved, or transmitted off your device.
3. User-Generated Text (For the "OverWhite Text" Filter)
- Why we need it: The "OverWhite Text" filter allows you to input text to be rendered onto a new image.
- How we use it: The text you provide is used on-device to generate the final image. This text is not stored or transmitted off your device.
