This Privacy Policy describes how Nostalgia (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Nostalgia AI Conversational Journaling App (“the App”).

By downloading, registering for, or using Nostalgia, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

When you create an account or use the App, we collect:

• Account & Profile Data

  Email address and hashed password (for login); name and birthdate (required); gender (optional).

  Optional settings such as AI tone preference and notification preferences.

• User Content

  – Voice recordings you make for journaling (temporarily processed for transcription).

  – Uploaded photos attached to entries.

  – Manual text entries you type.

  – AI-generated summaries and key points (three per entry) saved so you can view past journals and so future AI sessions can recall context.

  – All intermediate conversation audio and transcripts are deleted after each session ends.

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

• Usage Data (e.g., session length, timestamps).

• Device & Crash Data (device type, OS version, App version, anonymous ID, crash logs).

  Collected through Supabase’s basic usage metrics for diagnostics only.

1.3 Third-Party Data Collection

• OpenAI APIs (Whisper, GPT-4o-mini, GPT-4o-mini-tts) for transcription and AI responses.
• Meta SDK (Facebook Ads Attribution) for install and subscription measurement only. No ads are shown inside the App.

2. How We Use Information

1. Account Management & Security – authenticate accounts and prevent fraud.
2. Core Functionality – convert voice to text via Whisper; generate AI summaries and responses via GPT-4o-mini; store only summaries and key points for later reference.
3. Voice Minute Tracking – manage plan limits server-side in Supabase (Premium 150 min, Pro 300 min, Yearly 60 min per month).
