This Privacy Policy explains how Valo Sleep (“Valo”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Valo Sleep iOS app (the “App”).

Summary (plain English)

• No accounts. The App does not require sign-in.
• Most data stays on your iPhone. Your “Your Thoughts” entries (typed text and voice recordings) are stored locally on your device.
• Transcription is optional. If you subscribe and tap Transcribe, the App uploads the selected audio recording to our server to generate a transcript. We then use third-party AI services to transcribe and format it.
• Subscriptions. Purchases are handled by Apple’s App Store and our billing provider (RevenueCat) to manage subscription status.
• No analytics SDK. We do not run third-party analytics SDKs in the iOS app at this time.

Information we collect

1) Information you create in the App (stored on device)

The App includes features like sleep onboarding selections, schedules, breathing sessions, and “Your Thoughts” journaling.

Depending on what you use, the App may store on your device:

• Sleep schedule data (e.g., bedtime and wake time)
• App blocker configuration (e.g., which apps/categories you chose to block and your blocker schedule)
• Breathing / relaxation usage signals needed to power features like the streak
• “Your Thoughts” content
  • Typed entries you write
  • Voice recordings you record (saved as audio files on your device)
  • Transcripts (if generated), including edited versions you save

2) Information processed when you use transcription (only when you tap “Transcribe”)

If you choose to use transcription features:

• The App uploads the audio file you selected to our transcription endpoint.
