A supporter of Olympique Lyonnais since my earliest years and a writer for Target Scouting for several months now, I was keen to take on the exercise that is arguably the most challenging for a young scout: producing a comprehensive recruitment analysis within a fictional framework.
The challenges of this exercise quickly become apparent: between the technical limitations of the tools at my disposal, the time constraints imposed by my full-time job outside of football, and the gaps in knowledge due to the opacity of information regarding the club’s current situation. This anaysis was started back in January 2026, and published at the end of March 2026.
Completing this exercise thus presents a genuine challenge for me, with the goal of producing a coherent analysis that brings me one step closer to my dream of working in a professional football structure one day.
