Pounce ("the app", "we", "us") is a game played by cats and set up by their owners. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and your choices. The app is intended for adult pet owners, not for children, and is not directed to children under 13.
We use PostHog to understand how the app is used so we can improve it. On first launch you are asked to opt in; until you do, the analytics SDK is never started. When enabled, we collect an anonymous random identifier (not tied to your identity), app screens viewed, game-session details (level, settings, scores, play time), paywall interactions, device type, OS version, and app version. Geo-IP lookup is disabled. We never send your photos, videos, audio, or file paths. You can withdraw consent at any time via Profile → Anonymous analytics.
We use Sentry to capture crash and error diagnostics (stack traces, device model, OS version, the same anonymous identifier). This follows the same consent switch as analytics.
Non-subscribers may see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers, including the Advertising Identifier (IDFA on iOS / Advertising ID on Android), to show and measure ads. On iOS we ask for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads are non-personalized. In regions where it applies, a consent message (Google UMP) collects your ad-personalization choices. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Optional premium purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We never receive your full payment details. RevenueCat processes a purchase/transaction record tied to the same anonymous identifier so we can unlock premium features and restore them across your devices. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
Some features use your device camera and microphone — scanning QR codes to pair a phone controller, thetick-finder, and recording your cat's reactions. Captured photos and videos are stored locally and are saved to your photo library only when you ask. This media is not uploaded to us.
