Welcome To Leadership — A Message From Your Advisor, Mrs. McGrath
Hello! I am just absolutely ecstatic to continue being the Leadership Advisor and to have the opportunity to work with such incredible individuals. It’s also nice to know that the knowledge I obtained as a camp counselor will finally come in handy. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you and working with you all to create an amazing environment for our school! School Culture is so vital to the heart of our community and I can’t wait to get started!
Welcome To Leadership — A Message From Your 22/23 ASB Board
Hi Everyone! We are so excited for you to join us for a fun year in Leadership.
Introduction To Leadership at SSHS
Leadership is the foundation of our school spirit. Not only that, Leadership and ASB play a vital role in approving fundraisers/events on campus and plan many school activities including every school dance, spirit weeks and other events for our student body. The students in this class, whether they are here for one year or for all four years, are role models on campus. Expect to work hard in this class, just like you would in any other class. However, this class is meant to be fun and a safe space as well.
Semester Grading System
Spirit Participation: 20%
Class Assignments: 35%
Class Responsibilities & Committee Assignments: 35%
Community Service: 10%
This must be volunteer work done outside the normal expectations of leadership(IE: you can’t count event setup as volunteer hours). This can include, but is not limited to: The Samaritan Center, Arroyo Clean Up, Beach Clean Up, Other School Events, etc. You need 10 hours per semester for a total of 20 hours for the year.
Class Expectations
Each class has certain responsibilities they must fulfill.
Every class has to plan one dance a year, one spirit week, and each class must host one fundraiser every 5 weeks.
Each class must have an event outline completed and submitted to ASB at least 4 weeks before their dance. This is mandatory for all dances. Other events are on a case-by-case basis.
Freshman: Spring Fling
Sophomores: Homecoming
Juniors: Fall Ball/Winter Formal
Seniors: Prom
Individual Expectations
Committees
