Hello, I'm Minhyuk Seo.

I'm a Research Associate in ESAT-PSI Lab at KU Leuven, advised by Prof. Tinne Tuytelaars. My research focuses on Human-like AI.

During my M.S., I was fortunate to work as a research intern at the Advanced Machine Learning team in LG AI research (2023).

I received my M.S. degree in Computer Science at Yonsei University under the supervision of Prof. Jonghyun Choi and B.S. degree in Computer Science from the same university.

Research Interests

My primary research focus lies in developing human-like AI, inspired by how humans learn and evolve. Humans gradually expand their knowledge over time, from early education to advanced learning, rather than acquiring everything at once. Moreover, human intelligence evolves through rich interaction and collaboration, where individuals learn from and grow with others, rather than developing in isolation.

In contrast, current AI agents often

• (i) suffer from catastrophic forgetting and hallucinations while learning new information,
• (ii) undergo isolated fine-tuning for each downstream task, without knowledge sharing across models, which limits their generalization.

To bridge the gap between the learning mechanisms of human and artificial intelligence, I am particularly interested in

• (i) robust and efficient continual learning for continual adaptation and personalization
• (ii) collaborative learning that enables models to share knowledge with others, thereby mutually enhancing their generalization and collective intelligence
