To untangle graphs even further, Bolt 2 will include minimal units called Port Proxies. Those will simply forward value or control flow from or to a port. The advantage of proxy nodes is:

• Invisible Connection: The connection to their linked port will only show as a dashed line when the proxy is selected.
• Compact Display: The node will only show the name of the linked port
• Smart Deletion: If the unit defining the linked port gets deleted, its proxies will also get deleted instantly. Likewise, if the connection between the linked port and the proxy is deleted, the proxy will get deleted instantly.

Proxies will support any kind of port (value or control, input or output). To create a proxy, all the user has to do is drag a new connection from the source port, then choose the “Proxy” option in the fuzzy finder.
