The 'POD' - Point of Departure, where this world ceases to be our own, is technically millions of years ago, when the 'Hoshih' continent broke apart from 'Mornaea' during a 'Great Rift Event'.

Whilst this may be the case, if one were to consider all of the butterfly effects from California - Hoshih - being an island, what would become of humanity could not possibly be known. Anthropological history wouldn’t resemble ours in any considerable way.

Thus, as this timeline is not a study in anthropological divergences, the aforementioned Geological POD in the New World is divorced from the Narrative POD, with the Narrative POD for the Old World being in the midst of the Taifa period of Muslim Iberia, in the mid 11th century.

In the New World, however, the geographical differences are greatly taken into consideration, with the conditions present at the point of contact between the New and Old worlds vastly different from reality as a result.
