Starting the stage

If you created a stage room, you have functionality similar to Twitter Spaces and Clubhouse in which you can invite and accept people from your audience onto the stage. Only the room creator and room moderators can start the stage and accept requests to join the stage. Also the stage will automatically close if there are no moderators. If you have cohosts/special guests we advise that you add them as a moderator (instructions at the bottom). To start the stage, press the green “start stage” button in the bottom center of the room.

You can now give access to your camera and microphone. You may need to access your browser settings to allow camera and mic access to getplayback.com. You will also note that there is an arrow next to both your camera and mic icons. You can use these arrows to select different camera and mic inputs, and for the camera this is also how you access Studio Mode. Studio Mode will display a larger rectangle rather than the standard circle, allowing more of your camera feed to be captured. Make sure to test your setup to make sure it works, and if you’re having any challenges ping us in your partner support channel on Discord.

Bringing spectators on stage

As a reminder, moderators will be able to join the stage as they please! For your other room members, there are two ways you can give them stage access. The first way is they can request stage access by “raising their hand.” On your end you will see a red badge notification on the bell icon in the bottom center of your screen. Requests to come on stage are kept in order so you know who has been waiting the longest.

The second way to bring spectators on the stage is to invite them. You can do this by accessing your room list in the top middle (where it says “2 watching” in our example). Click the 3 dots next to the user you want to invite on stage and click “Invite to stage.”

Resizing and repositioning stage bubbles

You can move and resize the bubbles on stage! Don’t worry, your moving of bubbles will not affect anyone else. Each user can choose where they would like the bubbles on their screen, the size of the bubbles, and the type of view they would like. Multi speaker view is the default and will show all people on stage, but you can also select active speaker view to only see the bubble of the person currently speaking, or you can hide the bubbles altogether.
