I went to Thailand in 2003 inside a vision I am a philanthropist - one that gives energetically (not just financially). I am very curious to what degree Bridgespan Group (Give Smart) aligns with this value.
from 2006-2007 was my first attempt at Establishing a non-profit to support fund development efforts for Dance Chalat in the context of Dance Labs
it wasn’t successful and learned it might have made a difference to lean hard away from program management and focus on fund development and making it happen (or find someone who was willing to focus on fund development and learn the administrative tasks involved in establishing a non-profit, esp in Thailand)
In 2009, I was invited to support a family foundation known as the Squid & Squash Foundation - it was my first experience giving back to education.
In 2010, Team Minutemen got born as a result of efforts to house IT consulting efforts. It was retired in 2020.
In 2021, I continue to look to Activism as a source of keeping my philanthropy spirit alive.
