PhD Candidate • Operations and Business Analytics
I am an Operations Management PhD Candidate at Ohio State University with an intrinsic passion for learning and quality. My research focuses on leveraging learning and organization practices to drive service quality performance. I study how service organizations learn from and make decisions about their experiences (knowledge creation) and the experiences of others (knowledge transfer) in the pursuit of service excellence. I deeply believe in engaged scholarship, and my research is done in tandem with major, global travel and tourism companies. My academic pursuits are heavily inspired by a decade of work experience in operational, management, and executive positions at Accor Hotels, Cornell University, Sabre, Starwood (Marriott), Relais & Châteaux, and NASA.
I have significant teaching experience at Ohio State University and Cornell University, including teaching / supporting courses on: core operations management, service operations, data analysis, project management, sustainable operations, and business modeling. I regularly present and lead sessions at POMS, INFORMS, AOM, and DSI. I serve on the POMS College of Service Operations Board as the Doctoral Student Engagement Liaison. In my personal life, I am an avid reader and writer who enjoys playing basketball, cooking, swimming, and practicing judo. I am originally from Greenbelt, Prince George’s County, MD.
