Your basic guide to the entire region of Peteleka.
Peteleka can be summed up as a vast collection of swamps and cypress forests. It is not often that you will find solid ground here. If you do, it may already be claimed by others that came before you.
On a good day, the temperature is a cool 75°F, and the humidity rests at about 55%. Hot days can reach up to 110°F with humidity too high to measure. Peteleka is prone to stormy weather, which can include hurricanes by the likes of which no other region could fathom.
For the rest of the world, there’s a distinction between friendly, passive, and hostile creatures. For Peteleka, it’s best to assume all creatures are a threat. Except for the Teld, of course… they’re too stupid to be mean.
Common creatures in Peteleka are much like creatures found in the Louisiana swamps. The same goes for the plant life. But there are many unique creatures as well.
Teld
An oversized weevil-like bug type creature that is attracted to shiny things. They are not very intelligent, but can speak some words that they pick up from passerbys.
Cockamaroach
A giant cockroach that spits acid at its foes. It has an incredibly good sense of hearing.
Unguile
A creatre that looks exactly like a giant cypress tree at first glance. It is exceptionally good at camoflauge. It spreads false “knees” out in the water around it, which are actually shape-changing tendrils that detect, ensnare, and drown its victims before dissolving and absorbing them. Occasionally, it will secrete poison into the water to weaken the victim first.
Silent Death
A tiny, brightly colored flower that is shaped similarly to a daisy. It attracts animals and creatures with beautiful colors and a sweet, intoxicating aroma. Smelling the flower directly can cause one to become infatuated with the flower. Picking the flower causes it to expel an invisible, scentless gas that lulls one into a sleep from which they’ll never wake.
Riin
Savellor always prided itself on the dragons that would protect their kingdom from harm. Well, Peteleka has a legend of their own dragon, but it does not serve as a guardian of the Pekals. This dragon sleeps beneath the land, and will only emerge on Nej Dukgorra (Final Death) to return all life to its rightful place: the hands of Ebony.

Teldjebev (tell-jeh-bev) - "Town of Teld"
A commune of bug-like creatures known as Teld live here. They are non-hostile, and keep to themselves.
