Terminology:

• picture plane: a vertical plane
• ground plane: a horizontal plane

Both picture and ground plane are infinite.

• Station point is the eye of the figure (the observer) it is monocular.
• Distance Line: the distance between the observer (station point) and picture plane. Also known as the center line.

Where the center line and the picture plane intersect this is the center of vision and one point perspective that will be the vanishing point.

Bottom of the picture plane is the ground line. It will be a horizontal measuring line.

Cone of Vision: is the area you can see and draw undistorted. The farther you get away from the center of vision the more distorted it gets. The cone of vision is 60º, 30/30 on each side.
