Case Study

Role

Client

Project brief and problem statement:

The personal chef business has been a fast-growing industry for many years.

Elia started off taking clients from an app with severe user experience flaws. An exciting referral translated into a frustrated or lost client.

Elia needed a fast, informative, attractive website. I was responsible for coming up with solutions regarding crucial features and the overall making of the website.

From here, it was clear that some features were imperative for the success of his business. We can condense them into three: (1) discoverability, (2) menu options, (3) efficient booking system.

What is a personal chef/ what he does.

A personal chef is a trained cook who gets hired for special events.

Personal chefs will also do the planning, shopping, cooking and cleaning. In short, they bring people together and provide entertainment leveraging their ability to make delicious food.

I just don't want to look back and think “I wish I spent more time with them.”

Let's get the ball rolling.

To kick off the project, I started with a client stakeholder workshop. I wanted to make sure that the goals met the market demand.

As a second step, I conducted broad research and learned that there are three types of customers. I then used this information to build three different personas and define their expectations.

The target group is male-female, age: 25-50, middle-upper class.
