Peer Review Suggestions
After receiving all the peer reviews from four of our fellow students and two professors, the overall response was positive. Many mentioned that Notion was simple and easy to use, which was refreshing.
The following are some of the feedback that were addressed as well as some of the changes that we did not take action on:
Actionable Changes:
- Finish adding missing content:
- At the time of the peer review, many pages were still under construction (example: assessment plan, learning theory & design, etc.). We have since finished adding the missing content.
- Add a button/link at the bottom of each page to navigate to the next/previous page:
- For example, at the end of Unit 2: Variance, we added buttons to navigate to Unit 1: Mean, Median, and Mode and Unit 3: Standard Deviation.
- The Learning Modules page is intimidating and has a large wall of text:
- We reordered the page so that links to the learning modules appear at the top of the page so that learners (the majority of the users) will not be greeted to a large wall of text mostly intended for the instructor. A description of the learning outcomes is still available on this page for educators.
- Make the units with less number depth (less decimal points):
- We originally had our base units with a prefix of 1.x, but we changed the base numbers to a single digit (example: "1: Mean, Median, Mode") to be easier to navigate.
- Language that could be perceived as negative:
- Some language that could be perceived as negative was used when recommending students to review previous units if they could not remember the main points. This wording was changed to be more positive.
Unactionable changes:
- Introduction does not describe enough info:
- Not enough information was provided on what info should be provided. However, we may have answered some of the missing information while adding in the missing content.
- English language learner considerations:
- Our two accessibility considerations were hearing impairment and color blindness, but at the time of the peer review, this information may not have been clear to the reviewers. English language learner considerations are out of scope for this Interactive Learning Resource, so changes will not be made for this suggestion.
