Disqualification: Pearl Hacks board reserves the right to disqualify and remove any submissions that violate the submission rules set forward in the Hacker Guide. Additionally, all projects must be fully uploaded to DevPost by 11 am on Sunday with all the necessary information filled out and no edits/commits made after the deadline. The Pearl Hacks team reviews all submissions to check for changes made after the deadline and reserves the right to disqualify any projects that do not meet the requirements listed in the hacker guide about originality and integrity of work submitted.
Personal Belongings and Liability: Attendees are solely responsible for the security of their personal belongings. Pearl Hacks is not liable for any items left unattended during the course of the weekend. Depending on the venue of the event, Pearl Hacks will make efforts to find a safe space for participants to leave their stuff but ultimately cannot guarantee the security of everyone’s belongings in the public space the event is held in. Any concerns about missing belongings may be brought to the board or venue, but ensuring belongings are safe is the owners responsibility.
Safety and Comfort: Ensuring the comfort and safety of all attendees is our highest priority. Pearl Hacks reserves the right to make decisions and take action as necessary to address issues that may affect the well-being of participants. This may include, but is not limited to, adjusting event schedules, modifying rules, or asking individuals to leave if their behavior poses a risk to others. Additionally, Pearl Hacks wants to ensure all participants feel comfortable during the entire weekend and any concerns or issues in this area should be brought to a Pearl Hacks board member as soon as possible so action can be taken.
Respect and Acceptance: Pearl Hacks abides by the rules set forth in the MLH code of conduct but our terms include an additional clause stating that as an organization, ensuring our space is inclusive to all our hackers is one of our number one priorities. By attending this event all attendees are expected to be tolerant and acceptant of all other persons at Pearl Hacks. Any party that we believe is not abiding by this clause may be asked to leave in an effort to keep our space inclusive to all attendees.
Pearl Hacks appreciates your cooperation with these terms and your help keeping Pearl Hacks a positive experience for all.
