Search function

To select a location on the map,  you can type the road, LGA, or location of interest by typing it directly into the search bar. Alternatively, you can manually scroll and zoom on the map to find points of interest.

Hovering over data points will cause a dialogue box to appear on the top right-hand side of the map. This outlines the International Roughness Index (IRI) reading of the data point. IRI is the roughness index is a worldwide indicator used for the characterisation of longitudinal road roughness, and for evaluating and managing road systems.

Green dots indicate a lower IRI score, whereas red dots indicate a higher IRI. A darker red indicates a higher IRI.

Filtering by IRI

In Pavepoint, you have the option to filter by IRI. This is located in the Road Selection panel on the upper lefthand side of the map screen. Filtering is done by changing the lower and upper thresholds to only view instances within a certain range. You can view any IRI instance between 0 and 10.

Selecting a road

To select a road, click the [+] button located underneath the search bar. This will open the Road Selection Panel. Click the Selected Routes [+] button located in the Road Selection Panel. This will allow you to select roads on the map.

To make a selection on the map, click once on the road of interest to set an origin point. To make more complex selections (i.e., emulating a trip with turns), you can make a series of single clicks, and then double-clicking when you've finalised your selection. Make sure your selection takes into account the direction of traffic you are trying to analyse.
