Summary

Pause | Purposeful Browsing (“Pause”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is a Chrome extension that helps you browse with intention by adding a short pause and optional timer before you spend time on distracting sites.

Data we store

Pause stores a small amount of data locally using Chrome’s chrome.storage APIs:

• The list of sites you choose to monitor and whether each site is enabled or disabled
• Your selected prompt frequency (every / hourly / daily)
• Whether Pause is muted for today
• Recent per-domain prompt information (domain name, timestamp, and timer duration)
• The optional “reason” text you type when starting a timed session

We do not store: your name, email address, passwords, financial information, health information, or full browsing history. We do not read or store page content (such as the text, images, or form fields on the websites you visit).

How we use this data

The data listed above is used only to:

• Decide when to show you the Pause overlay on sites you have chosen to monitor
• Remember your settings across browser sessions
• Trigger “Time’s up” reminders when a timer you started has finished

We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to Pause’s core focus/time-boxing functionality.
