A pillar of the AAC volunteer community, Patrice has been dedicating her time and compassion to our cats since February 2011.
With over a decade of experience, she finds fulfillment in the quiet, focused tasks that are crucial for healing. She particularly enjoys "nebbing," which allows her to provide one-on-one care to help cats and kittens get healthy again.
Patrice has a special talent for teaching one of the most essential volunteer duties: cleaning. She reframes the task not as a chore, but as a vital act of compassion for the animals.

“This is the cat's temporary home, so keeping their litter box clean and bedding clean and dry is good for the cat's wellness and attitude.”

When meeting new volunteers, she loves to ask if they have cats at home. This often leads to a valuable conversation about what to look for in cat behavior and how to spot signs of illness.
When she’s not providing expert care for Austin’s cats, Patrice is quite the adventurer - she’s been to the top of the Zugspitze in Germany twice!
