Here are some frameworks to use in co-design

Together with your co-designers, you’ll develop a code of care (how co-designers commit to caring for each other). We can’t tell you how to do that, as that will be specific to the people you’re working with. Here is some inspiration from the [Queer Design Club](https://queerdesign.club/code-of-conduct/#:~:text=We ask you embody the,and longevity of this community.).

How will you exercise your duty of care?

đź“„ Recognition, attribution and payment

As professionals, we are paid for our expertise. So too, should people with lived experience. Historically people with lived experience have not been compensated when they help organisations to deliver or improve their services. If we’re serious about elevating lived experience, we can’t expect free participation. We need to account for people’s time and out-of-pocket expenses, as well as emotional labour.

When costing co-design, include co-designers’ time and out-of-pocket expenses, as well as an investment in hospitality.
