A work in progress focussing on exploring the idea of home and the continuous quest to find that home, while one migrates from one space to another. The piece dwells around the experiences of working class segment during finding that home and the journey one embarks upon within a socio-political construct. The idea of migration is in itself dependent on several moulds and factors of the society, which has kept evolving over time, but has remained constant in its original nature. On this journey, one obviously develops certain strong relationship with various objects, entities and self.

This project has been personal to me from the aspect how I, myself, have migrated from my birth place to various places for studies, work and quest to find my own home. This is a initial draft of the work which will develop over time and in different spaces.

Home for migratory workers from Bihar is a complex and multifaceted concept. It's a place of both sustenance and aspiration, rooted in deep emotional ties and economic realities.

Key Aspects of Home for Migratory Workers

1. Economic Survival:
   • Livelihood: For many, the primary reason for migration is economic necessity. Home is where their families reside, dependent on the income they send back.
   • Aspiration: Despite the hardships, home often represents a future of stability and prosperity. It is where they hope to build a better life for their families.
2. Emotional Anchor:
   • Family and Community: Strong familial and community bonds tie migrants to their home villages. It's a place of belonging and support.
   • Cultural Identity: Home is where their traditions, language, and cultural heritage are deeply ingrained. It's a source of identity and comfort.
