We encourage everyone to take time off regularly, as we know how important it is for your health, productivity, and ability to do your life's best work.
You don't have to ask permission to take time off for a period of 2 weeks or less, but you do have to coordinate with your team and provide visibility.
We offer Unlimited paid time off
You can take time off any time throughout the year
We encourage everyone to take at least 25 days of time off each year. More is very welcome. Less is really not beneficial to either you as an individual or the business.
If we notice you have taken too little time off toward the end of the year (e.g. by September), we will send you a reminder encouraging you to take some more.
We believe we've hired people who can manage their own time off, so you don't have to ask permission to take a break. You do, however, have to tell your manager - ideally as soon as you know you're taking time off. It's usually not a good idea for a full team to take time off at the same time (a few days overlap for people within the same team could happen, specifically during certain times of the year like Christmas, and that’s fine), so please make sure your colleagues can take over for you while you're away. This is especially important if you work with our customers directly, or if you work in similar roles where it's critical that someone is taking over while you're away.
Best practice is to let your manager and team know about your plans as soon as possible.
Once you've coordinated with your colleagues, next step is to book your time off in Humaans (our HR system), this will automatically sync with our company-wide holidays calendar allowing the rest of the business to know who is off and when.
Please note, time off should be booked for rest - if you are sick or fall sick during a vacation, make sure you let your manager know and book "Sick leave" instead. *If you're based/employed in Denmark, please also request vacation via Pento to make sure we're compliant with the Danish vacation law.
You can take up to 3 coherent weeks of vacation without approval, as long as the timing works for your team. Feeling like going on an even longer trip? Just ask your manager first, and make sure it works for your colleagues as well. Your manager has the right to reject your request due to e.g. peak periods, deadlines, performance issues, or similar.
One-day vacations are great, too. Need time to clean your apartment, or maybe you want to take a trip to meet a friend you haven't seen in a long time? You don't have to go to exotic places to justify a vacation. We encourage everyone to go on at least one long vacation (1-2 weeks) every year, but one-day vacations can be great to take an extra break now and then. Same guidelines apply — please let your manager and teammates know as soon as you know you'll take time off.
Ask your manager :)
