Overview:

Publicly & meticulously tracking my information diet to see what propoganda I consume. The plan is simple: Record all content I consciously* consume and then evaluate for perceptual/media biases.

This is a generally restrictive information diet and is not intended for long-term adherence but, as real food diet work, is a generally rigorous period of detailed tracking (current period) followed by longer-term lifestyle implications.

The philosophy behind the diet is to reduce oversaturation and overconsumption and distill and concentrate on what’s left.

Guidlines:

  1. Avoiding algorithmically suggested content.
    1. TikTok, Instagram reels, Youtube**, Facebook reels, Non-targeted Facebook Marketplace sessions, Pinterest, etc
  2. Personal recommended content — short form or long form — is allowed but must be tracked.
  3. Video games/strategy games are not counted.***
  4. Make Archive folder in your gmail and import all your current emails there. Start with a new slate. Delete/unsubscribe from all the fluff and what you like make an email specifically for newsletter

**Yes, youtube is a social media and I was absolutely addicted to it ***I don’t have a mobile-game addiction but generally looking to remove anything that I unconsciously settle into. I was Town Hall 11 in Clash of Clans so I’m saying I don’t have a mobile-game addiction as someone who once did.

****High ratio of manuel work for short from content so incentivized off these platforms. I don’t recommend this for anyone
