What is rot?

rot saves AI conversation sessions when free-tier rate limits are reached. It scrapes the current conversation from Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini, distills it into a structured handoff prompt using the user's own Groq API key, and stores it locally so the user can continue in a new session without re-explaining context.

What Information Do We Collect?

We do not collect sensitive information. We do not collect information from third parties. Any personal information processed is stored locally on your device only.

How Do We Process Your Information?

Conversation text is read from the active AI chat page solely to generate a handoff prompt. Your Groq API key is stored locally in chrome.storage.local on your device only. Nothing is stored on any server owned by rot.

Do We Share Your Information?

We do not sell or share user data with third parties. The only external call is sending conversation text directly to api.groq.com using your own Groq API key. We have no access to this data.

AI-Based Features

rot uses text analysis via the Groq API (using your own API key) to distill conversation sessions.

How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

All data is stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local. No data is transmitted to servers owned by rot.
