After completing Google's APM internship before my senior year, my friend Jenny and I got a lot of questions about how to approach the PM job search, career options, and more. In addition to starting a community of product-interested folks at Duke, we decided to teach a class.

The class is project-based, with the majority of the semester being centered around three deliverables we thought were representative of some of the things PMs do. We also created an example project:

Students were to pick a product and do the following:

• Competitive market analysis (CMA) of the space
  • Here's an example, and our generalized template
• Write a PRD
  • Here's an example, and a generalized template for a PRD
• Put together a pitch deck
  • Here's an example, and a generalized pitch deck template
