PART I — THE ARCHIVE DOESN'T LIE

OPENING RECORD

</aside>

An emotional system can shut down without making a sound. The body records it anyway.

There is no single scene. There is a pattern.

It is not that something happened.

That is the trick: it does not take one major event for the body to begin hardening. It is enough for the air to change, for you to start measuring your movements, for an ordinary gesture to leave a doubt in your stomach and for you to keep going the next day as if nothing had happened.

You enter this Part I because you need to look at that without makeup. You need to see whether you are truly living or whether you are managing coexistence. You need to see whether you are loving or whether you are holding up a system so nobody feels uncomfortable.

Because that is what you do: you hold things up. You take on the load before it is handed to you, fix things before they break, move ahead of conflict so conflict never gets the chance to exist.

And then you wonder why you end up exhausted as if you had run a marathon inside a house.

Here you will not find one single scene that explains everything. You will find a pattern. And when the pattern appears, you can no longer say you did not see it.
