What is it like to travel in the future
The future of mobility is not anymore about going as fast as possible from A to B but more about the experience around it. The future mobility experience should be seamless, shared, personalized and supported by interactive technology. For tourists it should be exciting and surprising and adding value to their trip. In future vehicles there will be more room for shared moments in which social bonding can be stimulated by interactive technologies.
"Create an exciting and surprising experience for tourists at a Ford passenger van, by triggering interaction between passengers using interactive technology and in this way also getting loyal customers."
1) General features
By having an interactive screen underneath the window some basic functions become easy and intuitive. Some examples of those as explained in the video are that it is easy to make good pictures, without having the reflection or possible stains of the window on it. Passengers will never be too late to take the desired picture, because it is easily reached by just one click. Another feature to further explore the surroundings is zooming in by using gestures with the hand on the screen (as is shown in the video). In this way, certain details of highlights can be enjoyed by having a close up. Furthermore a picture of this close up can be taken as well!
The pictures can be saved and added to a personal and/or group album by being synchronized to the devices of the passengers. These stored pictures serve as a souvenir.
2) Learning experience
A future trend will be that tourists are even more eager to learn about the country and culture they visit. To serve this need, features which provide extra information like history, suggestions about what to do, language and basic translations, how it will look during night and more are provided. A way to learn about each other is by doing a quiz (which will be explained later).
3) Having fun
