As a TeachStart Fellow, I promise to uphold the highest form of professionalism and dedication to creating exceptional experiences in education.
As a TeachStart Fellow, I will:
- Uphold Scoot’s mission and culture of “creating exceptional experiences in education”
- Demonstrate a strong sense of belief that my teaching can positively impact lives
- Act proactively, show adaptability and flexibility when faced with challenges
- Treat Scoot Education and it’s services as a partnership
- Respect confidential information
- Exhibit excellent communication (i.e., call if running late, respond to emails/calls in a timely manner, notify Scoot of alternative employment)
- Consult with Scoot if I have any question, doubt, or need clarification
- Record all of my time worked properly and notify a Scoot consultant if I have any questions regarding my pay
- Notify Scoot if my employment status changes
- Attend mandatory Fellow trainings that are required for my pathway
- Abide by the terms and conditions of my employment agreement with Scoot Education
TeachStart Fellows requirements:
- Keep Scoot informed of weekly availability - Your normal work week will consist of 40 hours of work per week. In the event you are not assigned a substitute assignment on any particular day, you are expected to use eight hours that day for training and study. (if you are a Scoot Scholar+ Fellow, you will mark every second Wednesday off to attend mandatory trainings, unless otherwise instructed)
- Accept each substitute position that Scoot requests you to take on within one hour travel distance of your home so that you are substituting full-time
- Inform Scoot before 7pm/6am if I have to cancel an assignment (Fellows will accrue sick days that you can use for these cases)
- Raise issues and concerns directly with Scoot (and handle them with integrity)
- Arrive on time and prepared (ie: reviewing map and directions); immediately contact Scoot if running late
- Treat all staff with respect; greet, introduce myself and demonstrate a passion for education
