This is the mecca so it’s hard to go wrong.
The Biltmore Estate never gets old. The story of of the Vanderbilts and Asheville’s connection to that story, is a fascinating one, and gives new meaning to the Estate. There’s so much more to see now…the Winery, the Biking trails, the off-road experience, new hotels. Amazing place.
We are partnering with the **Biltmore Estate** to offer exclusive Biltmore discounted tickets to our guests. Please visit our new Guest Store to purchase tickets or to peruse additional curated services and experiences.
Located on a mountain bluff overlooking Asheville and is the setting for one of the more unforgettable hotels in the country. Presidents and dignitaries stay here, but visiting for lunch or drinks is one of the finer opportunities in Asheville. Google Grove Park Omni Resort for the list of restaurants and events. The Sunset Terrace fine dining will not disappoint (resort casual dress, reservations required). There are four other restaurants for every budget, but the Grand Hall (lobby) is the perfect place for meeting with friends for a drink before or after dinner. The Grand Hall fireplaces are massive and are wonderful during the winter. The resort spa is exceptional and day passes, if you can find them, are surprisingly affordable.
The River Arts District is where the creative spirit of Asheville thrives and where you’ll find the greatest concentration of higher end galleries at wholesale. Multiple studios and galleries are housed in the Wedge building above the Wedge brewery, which has fantastic craft beer on the ground floor. 2 blocks from the Wedge studios don’t miss St. Claire Art: Steve St Claire paints commissioned works with a technique called Dialuminism, a new form of Impressionism. He and/or his wife Joy are often on site and available. Summit Coffee nearby is an exceptional barista, with free WiFi. For lunch: 12 Bones BarBQ is ‘rub it in your hair’ wonderful; the Obamas stopped here for lunch.
