Often times it's easy to get bogged down in early decisions like file organization, etc. so it's helpful to have a tried and true system in place so you don't have to think about it.
This method will help you stay on track designing and not worrying about the analytical side of of digital file organization.
I have a very specific way I organize every design project. Small tweaks are made here and there, but overall this is THE system I use and it makes my life much much easier.
Folder Structure (Note that “Clients” could easily get changed to “Projects” and you could also have a “Projects” folder that is separate from “Clients” that is reserved for personal projects. This is how I manage my design work. Here is the structure:
