- Summary of current flow:
- Step 1: User Authentication: The user signs up or logs in using Google OAuth or by creating a manual account (Email/Password).
- Step 2: Contact Identification: The user is prompted to provide a mobile phone number.
- Step 3: Security Verification: A mandatory verification step where the user enters an OTP (One-Time Password) sent to their phone.
- Step 4: Flow Completion (Generic Landing): Upon verification, the onboarding ends abruptly. The user is redirected to the generic Job Search home screen without any prompt to define their job title, skills, or professional interests.
- Pain points identified:
- Lack of Personalization (The "Cold Start" Problem):
The flow ends without asking for the user's job title or industry. This results in a generic home screen with irrelevant job recommendations, forcing the user to do all the filtering work manually.
- Abrupt Ending & Poor Guidance:
The transition from phone verification to the search page is too sudden, leaving users without a clear "Next Step" to optimize their profile
🎯 Goals of the A/B Test
- Increase Profile Completion Rate
To measure if incorporating mandatory data-entry steps (Skills, Education, Resume) during the onboarding flow leads to a higher percentage of "Job-Ready" profiles compared to the current generic flow.
- Improve Initial Job Relevancy
By capturing the user's "Job Title" and "Location" immediately, the goal is to provide personalized and relevant job matches from the very first interaction, reducing the time users spend searching manually.
- Long-term Goal: Enhance User Retention
To determine if providing a tailored experience (based on the collected skills and education) increases the likelihood of users returning to the app, compared to users who see irrelevant results in Version A.
